My friend Kevin Kirby sent me a pic of this dramatic late-evening cloud formation over the Breckenridge ski resort in Colorado. He was moving to Boulder, and his new home had a large bare wall adjacent to a stairwell. He asked if I could paint the scene on three large canvases (a triptych) designed for that bare wall.
