Sentinels
I enjoy painting with watercolors, as well as oils, acrylics, and gouache (opaque watercolor). I painted this scene because I wanted to practice painting a landscape with watercolor. I had been in Yankton to watch my daughter, Anna, play soccer on a beautiful autumn afternoon. On the way back to Sioux Falls, I drove the backroads and took many pics. These stoic cottonwoods made good subjects. My daughter’s in law’s and our good friends, Rich Jankord and Lorah Houser Jankord own this painting.
2004. Watercolor on Paper. 11 by 14 inches.
