Augusta National, 12 Green & 13 Fairway

This is a view of Amen Corner at Augusta National that TV audiences rarely, if ever, see. The vantage point is the right side of hole number 13 fairway, looking back toward number 12 green. The day is the Monday practice round, and the time is about 8:30am when the dew is still on the grass and the players had not yet come to number 13. With the low morning sun, the fairway grass had that very light green shine. One year later, at this very spot, Brad Jankord asked me if he could marry my daughter Anna. The Master’s Tourney had put me in a favorable mood. I was a pushover. The painting belongs to Brad.
