I was honored when leaders of the Sioux Falls Community Foundation (SFCF) asked me to create art to appear on the cover of its annual report. Good Earth State Park was new that year, and the SFCF had a role in bringing it to fruition. So, choosing the park as my subject was an easy decision. Choosing a specific scene within the park was not. I immediately visited the park (the time of year was summer), and I took dozens of pics for reference material. I finally chose this view of the Sioux River from one of the observation decks. You can visit this painting at the SFCF offices on 8th Street in Sioux Falls.
