Each year since the Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion was established, I have donated a work of art to its Gala, which is a dinner and auction to raise funds for Pavilion programs. Before the Pavilion was established in 1999, and starting in about 1982, I annually donated a work of art to the Sioux Falls Civic Fine Arts Center for auction at its “Arts Night” fundraiser. In 2017, I donated to the Pavilion this painting of downtown Sioux Falls as seen from a United Flight from Denver during its final approach to the airport on a December evening. Creating this painting was challenging. I don’t recall who purchased it.
