Early Shift

Each year since the Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion was established, I have donated a work of art to its Gala, which is a dinner and auction to raise funds for Pavilion programs. Before the Pavilion was established in 1999, and starting in about 1982, I annually donated a work of art to the Sioux Falls Civic Fine Arts Center for auction at its “Arts Night” fundraiser. In 2019, I donated to the Pavilion this painting of the BNSF railroad depot on 8th Street in Sioux Falls. The painting shows the depot on a cold December early morning about 20 minutes before sunup. The morning crew had just arrived. I don’t recall who purchased this painting.

2019. Oil on Canvas Board. 11 by 14 inches.
