Black Hills Home
The Washington Pavilion auctioned a “blank canvas” at its Gala in June of 2025. People bid on the opportunity for me to paint a scene of their choosing. Steve and Shannon Van Buskirk won the bid. They asked me to paint their home in the Black Hills—but not as it looks today. The family had modified the home over the years. They asked me to paint the home the way it looked decades ago. The Van Buskirk’s kindly allowed my wife and me to stay at the home for a couple of nights in late September. I created this painting while referring to my own pics of the setting and to old Van Buskirk family photographs.
2025. Oil on Canvas. 16 by 20 inches.
