A best-kept-secret in South Dakota is the Bonesteel and Burke area. I have visited the area several times, simply to drive around and take pics. These two paintings resulted from one of those visits in the autumn season. These two paintings show my commitment to paint the scene as it is, with no embellishment – no attempt to enhance the scene. I believe that no embellishment is needed.
