The railroad yard located east of the Sioux River between 8th and 10th Streets offers an artist ample light and shadow patterns and interesting compositions. This scene captured my attention. At this point in my art development, I would typically paint this kind of scene in watercolor. However, I wanted to stretch my oil painting skills, and this painting resulted. Jeff Scherschligt purchased it.
