McKennan Matriarchs.

2013. Oil on Canvas. 16 by 20 inches.

In 2013, I took a painting workshop from Joe Paquet in St. Paul, MN (joepaquet.com). I came home inspired and wanted to put my new skills to work. Due to my fascination with residential architecture, I walked the McKennan Park neighborhood, sketching and taking pics. Two paintings resulted, McKennan Matriarchs and Sunday Morning on Second Avenue. In the first, I love the collective design of three white front porches. The owner of the yellow house purchased this piece. The owner of the house in the middle purchased the second painting, Sunday Morning on Second Avenue.
