Bo-Kaap Neighborhood

In 2009, my son, David, and I took a college course on international leadership offered by the University of St. Thomas. The course included a 12-day visit to South Africa. We visited Nelson Mandela’s prison, the Apartheid Museum, the townships, government organizations, non-profits working to fight AIDS, and a diamond mine. We met with a member of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission led by Bishop Desmond Tutu. Also, we loved the color and quaint of the Bo-Kaap Neighborhood in Capetown. David owns this painting.
