Tuthill
In September 2016, I had just returned home from a plein air painting workshop instructed by Joe Paquet of St. Paul, MN (www.joepaquet.com). Joe encouraged me then, and he still encourages me, to paint quickly “on location,” and capture the “feel” of the place. This painting resulted from my efforts to do just that at the base of the famous sledding hill at Tuthill Park in Sioux Falls. Looking uphill to the south, I was intrigued by shades of lime green and orange in the grass and the tree silhouettes against the bright late morning sky. This painting is my own collection.
