Leaders of First International Bank and Trust asked Jon Piper to recommend an artist to propose concepts for a large painting to hang in their new space at 14th and Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls. Jon recommended me, I met with the leaders, and learned they wanted a painting of an iconic Sioux Falls scene. The Falls of the Big Sioux had been done so many times. So, I proposed a half-dozen other options. However, the leaders kept coming back to the Falls. We chose a view of the Falls that rarely appears in art, and this painting is the result. It hangs above the fireplace in the bank’s lobby. You can see it as you’re driving north on Minnesota Avenue.
