Night Lights

In September 2025, I promised the leaders of Emily's Hope (Emily’s Hope ) that I would donate a painting for its annual Gala and Art Auction, January 24th at Canopy by Hilton Hotel in Sioux Falls. I had no donatable art in my inventory, so I knew I would create a piece exclusively for the event. However, I didn't know what I would paint -- until my wife, daughter, granddaughter and I attended the Winter Wonderland lighting event at Falls Park in Sioux Falls on November 21st. When I saw the Steel District from this vantage point at dusk, I knew I had found the subject of my painting. Note that the old railroad bridge is NOT in this painting. Craig Lloyd had been trying to remove that bridge for years. Craig, it's gone.

2025. Oil on Canvas. 24 by 36 inches.
