Sunrise on South Main

2016. Watercolor on Illustration Board. 12 by 18 inches.

I truly cannot explain my fascination with the architecture of older residential homes. I recall sketching older homes when I was in grade school. Don’t be surprised if you see me roaming older Sioux Falls neighborhoods taking pics, usually in early mornings or late afternoons when light is low and golden. I consider this white home to be the queen of south First Avenue in Sioux Falls. It faces east. Just after an autumn sunrise, it had a light lemon-yellow tone. This painting is in my collection.
