God Save the Queen

2013. Oil on Canvas. 24 by 36 inches.

In 2013, Stephen Williamson was director of the Sioux Falls State Theater Renovation Project. He was planning a fundraiser, a dinner and auction to be held at the Icon Lounge. He asked me to create and donate a painting of the State Theater. This painting is the result. Stephen proposed the name “God Save the Queen” because proceeds from its sale would help save the theater. At the fundraiser, two people engaged in a bidding war. The winning bid was $13,000. The winner then donated the painting back to the State Theater Renovation Project.
