Cola Wars
2000. Watercolor on Illustration Board. 14 by 20 inches.
I lived in the Washington D.C area in 1987 and 1988. I was in the Department of the Interior Management Development Program. I spent more than a few weekends traveling the area, taking pictures for future art projects. It took me 12 years to get around to creating this painting of buildings located in Richmond Virginia’s historic downtown. I was captured by the cola ads on the brick bathed in morning light. The man leaning against the post ads a lonely Sunday morning feeling.
