These paintings are special. In July 2014, my family, my daughter’s boyfriend, and his family vacationed in Italy. At our villa near Cortona in the Tuscany region, my daughter’s boyfriend surprised my daughter with a wedding proposal. She accepted! My wife and I knew it was coming, and we were thrilled. 15 months later, they were married at this same villa. 60 guests witnessed the blessed event. I painted this scene on location (plein air) twice. The painting on the left is a morning view. The painting on the right is an afternoon view. They show our view from the villa as we looked up the hill toward Cortona.
