The Washington Pavilion auctioned a “blank canvas” at its annual fundraiser in 2018. People bid on the opportunity for me to paint a scene of their choosing. Towner and Liz Lapp won the bid and asked me to paint their classic, beautiful home located on S. Fifth Avenue in Sioux Falls. The Lapps wanted a winter scene, and together we reviewed multiple views at various times of day. They chose this late afternoon view.
